BOWLING GREEN 60, DOSS 50

Our fourth game of the evening featured the state's top ranked Bowling Green Purples (6-0) and No. 11 Doss (3-3). An exciting opening two minutes saw the two opponents swap the lead on each of the first four possessions. It was a 7-0 run by Bowling Green capped by a Zion Harmon three-pointer that put the Purples firmly in the lead at 12-4. Jaylon Hall's three-pointer capped an 8-0 run for the Dragons as they clawed their way back to tie the game at 12-12. The Purples had the last run of the quarter to take a 20-14 lead at the break. Bowling Green extended their lead to nine points early in the second quarter before Doss closed the half on a 10-2 run to trail 24-25 going into the locker room.

A slow defensive third quarter saw the two teams combine for just twelve total points with Deangelo Wilson's layup in the final minute of the quarter pushing the Purples lead to 34-27. Jaylon Hall connected from long range to pull Doss within four points early in the fourth quarter but it was three straight three-pointers from 8th grader Zion Harmon that stole the show pushing the Bowling Green lead to 43-30 with six minutes to play in the game. Eight straight points from Doss' Stephon Franklin pulled the Dragons back within striking distance at 43-38 midway through the final quarter. The back-and-forth battle continued with the Bowling Green lead extending back to nine and a monster dunk by Jaylon Hall pulling Doss back to within 45-49 with 1:35 remaining. It was an 11-5 run that included six clutch free throws that helped put the game away for Bowling Green sealing the 60-50 victory.

Zion Harmon, the nation's top ranked 8th grader, led the scoring for the Purples with 21 points including 5 three-pointers. Austin Peay signee Terry Taylor added 18 points and 10 rebounds for Bowling Green. Doss was led by senior Jaylon Hall with 21 points and junior Stephon Franklin added 19 points.
