FERN CREEK 73, CHRISTIAN COUNTY 68

Our third game of today's action featured a battle of the unbeaten as No. 7 Christian County (6-1) fell to No. 8 Fern Creek (7-0). It was a battle from the moment the game tipped as the two teams exchanged the lead six times in the first three minutes of play. A pair of three-pointers by the Tigers' Anthony Wales put Fern Creek ahead 21-15 with two minutes to play in the opening quarter. The Fern Creek lead grew to eight points before a 5-0 Christian County run pulled the Colonels within 22-25 to end the first quarter. The Colonels kept rolling in the opening minutes of the second quarter tying the game at 29-29 just two minutes into the second quarter. Four lead changes later it was Wales that put Fern Creek back on top for the remainder of the half.

The Tigers five point halftime lead withered away to nothing midway through the third quarter as Christian County pieced together a 7-2 run. Fern Creek just wouldn't go away though converting four second chance opportunities into 7 points and pulling back ahead 59-51 in the closing minute of the third quarter. It took Jaylen Sebree's steal and basket to cap a 15-4 run for the Colonels to finally take the lead again with 2:58 remaining in the game. The Christian County lead grew to three with a pair of free throws by Sebree but they couldn't pull away. It was all Anthony Wales in the final two minutes for the Tigers as he scored seven straight points to put the Tigers back in the lead for good and seal the 73-68 victory.

Anthony Wales led the Tigers with a game-high 23 points. Chance Moore added 20 points for Fern Creek. Jaylen Sebree led four Colonels in double digits with 17 points. Deterrion Ware added 14 points and T'Aivey Mason and JaQuon Long each added 10.
