FAIRDALE 89, BOWLING GREEN 77

The host Fairdale Bulldogs came into the 2017 Chad Gardner Law King of the Bluegrass on a six-game losing skid in KOB play. You certainly couldn't tell in their opener as the cruised past defending State Champion and 16th ranked Bowling Green to clinch their first quarterfinal appearance since 2013. The Purples jumped out to an early 6-0 lead that they saw slip away as Fairdale went on an 18-8 run to end the first quarter and take command. The Bulldogs continued to cruise taking a 41-35 lead into halftime. The Fairdale Bulldogs saw their lead fluctuate throughout the second half pulling away to a game high 20 point lead at 82-62. The Purple closed the game on a 15-7 run but couldn't overcome the Bulldogs momentum falling 89-77. The Bulldogs defense converted 16 Bowling Green turnovers in 18 points in the victory. Fairdale's Craig Ashe as dominant posting a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds. The Bulldogs also get 23 points from Markelo Sullivan and 15 from Mark Sullivan. Bowling Green was led by Jarius Key with 27 points and 10 rebounds.
