The host Bulldogs smothered Marion County defensively in their opener to advance to the quarterfinals with a 77-30 victory. Fairdale forced 18 first have turnover by the Knights to take a 46-18 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs who held Marion County to 13/39 (33.3%) shooting in the game never looked back in the second half as they extended their lead to as many as 47 points.
Jacob Tucker led all scorers with 27 points to lead the way for Fairdale. The Bulldogs also got 17 points from Dalton Hicks. Kevin Vancleave led Marion County with 12 points.
Fairdale advances to the Sunday's quarterfinals where they will meet the winner of Covington Catholic vs. Trinity at 6:00pm. Marion County will play the loser of Covington Catholic vs. Trinity at 6:00pm Sunday in the consolation bracket.
